En vävkväll blev två. One weaving night became two.

I mars avhölls en vävkväll, som jag tagit initiativ till, på vikingamuseet Trelleborgen i Trelleborg. Tanken var att åtminstone en av deras tre upprättstående vävar skulle komma i bruk av "Föreningen Trelleborgen i Trelleborg", en vänförening till vikingamuseet. Material och väv  är Trelleborgens, och den färdiga produkten går även den till Trelleborgen. Föreningens medlemmar får prova att varpa, solva och sätta upp en väv samt väva, och förhoppningsvis ger det mersmak så att de vill väva mer i framtiden.

En vävkväll blev till två eftersom det tar tid att sätta upp en väv, särskilt när flera ska ha en chans att prova de olika momenten, men då blev det bara dubbelt så trevligt. :o)

In march there were a weaving night, that I initiated, at the Vikingmuseum Trelleborgen i Trelleborg (The Trelle fortress in Trelleborg). The thought is that at least one of the three Oppstadgogn looms (standing looms, viking age) will be in use by the members of the group "The association of the Trellefortress in Trelleborg" (free translation), a friend association of volunteers for the museum. Materials and loom is the museums and so will the finished product be. The members of the association got the possibility to warp and to put up the loom, and to weav, and my hope is that they like it so much that they want to weav more in the future.
One weaving night became two because it takes a lot of time to put up a loom and to let everyone try the different aspects of the process, but that just made it twice as fun. :o)

Där var även plats att bara hänga och vara social.

 There was also room for just plain old hanging out.

Linda hjälper när mina kunskaper inte räcker till, hon är solvningsexpert och det är inte jag.

Linda is helping when my knowledge isn't enough, she being the heddle expert, me not so much.

Vi kom väldigt långt första kvällen men där var lite kvar.

We came very far the first night but there were still some things left.

Andra vävkvällen. Efter att ha knutit upp vävtyngderna kunde vi börja väva! Wohoo! :oD

När vi kom ut från museet kunde vi beundra den härliga fullmånen.
